LONG WAY TO THE BOTTOM
I signed my first Nashville publishing deal in 1990, at the ripe old age of fourteen. As part of the early 90's "Bluebird Cafe" scene, I had an opportunity to learn the craft from some of Music Row's finest songwriters, spending my formative years co-writing with folks like Earl Bud Lee (Friends In Low Places), Casey Kelly (The Cowboy Rides Away), and Wood Newton (Bobbie Sue).

In the three decades since, I've been blessed to feature some legendary artists on my indie recordings. Tommy Ramone (the Ramones), Garth Hudson (the Band), Larry Campbell (Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson), and Justin Guip (Levon Helm, Hot Tuna) have played on my records. I've shared stages with acts like Chris Hillman (the Byrds), Jimmy Webb, Darrell Scott, Radney Foster, Junior Brown, and Ray Wylie Hubbard. And while commercial success has continually eluded me, I've charted my own course and done it on my terms.

My peers and heroes have accepted me, and I've built a small but dedicated fan base. And that's about all anybody could ask for.
